Treasures of Corinthian Land 2026 | Seeds, Herbs and Flavours in Ancient Corinth
On Saturday, 19 September 2026, Treasures of Corinthian Land returns to Ancient Corinth for the fifth consecutive year, bringing together the area’s history, the land, food traditions and contemporary gastronomy.
Taking place near the Temple of Apollo, in a setting closely connected to Corinth’s long history, this year’s event focuses on ancient seeds, herbs and archaeobotanical finds, offering insight into everyday life, agricultural production and dietary habits in antiquity.
From Archaeobotany to Contemporary Gastronomy
At the heart of the evening is archaeobotany, the scientific field that studies plant remains recovered from archaeological excavations and sheds light on the relationship between people, the land, cultivation and food through the centuries.
Archaeobotanist Kyriaki Tsirtsi will discuss ancient seeds, plants and archaeobotanical finds, presenting evidence that helps us better understand agricultural practices and dietary habits in antiquity.
Executive Chef Giannis Bratsolias will then present a live cooking demonstration inspired by the Corinthian land, creating a flavourful connection between past and present.
The event will be hosted by Nancy Giannidaki.
A Different Experience in Ancient Corinth
Treasures of Corinthian Land offers a special reason to visit Ancient Corinth, where the area’s history, landscape and flavours come together against the backdrop of one of the Municipality of Corinth’s most emblematic archaeological sites.
The event invites residents and visitors to discover a different side of the Corinthian land through science, gastronomy and the area’s cultural identity.
